Kapili Roofing Gives Back: Iliahi Elementary

Kapili Roofing Company is honored to be celebrating 15 years in business! It seems like yesterday that we were installing our first roof for our very first customer in Hawaii. We have gone from a small operation with just a handful of employees to a thriving business with a team of Hawaii’s most experienced roofing professionals.

We believe that success should be shared, which is why we’re taking this opportunity to show our appreciation and give back to the community.  In the past, we’ve donated many roofs to homeowners in need. And while we always believe that everyone deserves a reliable roof over their heads, we also recognize that we can do good in other ways.

This year, we’re donating 15 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to organizations throughout the island — one for each year we’ve been in business. It is our hope that one of these life-saving devices will provide emergency medical care when and where it’s most needed.

Making a Difference for All

Why AEDs and not roofs? It’s personal: Several years ago, we lost a loved one due to a medical emergency that might have been avoided if we’d had access to a defibrillator. We’ve also been on the other side of this same coin, where we watched a loved one’s life be saved by an AED. This opened our eyes to the fact that many places on our island do not have these life-saving devices at their disposal, and we’re working to change this.

With our donation of an AED to Iliahi Elementary, we’re helping to cover our island with essential equipment that can provide assistance for years to come.

Why We Chose Iliahi Elementary

Iliahi Elementary is shaping our future’s leaders, and we’re proud to play a small part in their role. We chose to donate an AED to the school because we recognize the school isn’t just a hot spot for children’s learning activities — educators, parents, and staff visit the school each day, along with countless visitors to attend school-related sports and other activities.

We’re helping to provide resources that the school may not otherwise be able to afford. Our mission has always been to show our commitment to supporting the lives of others, and we’re pleased to contribute to a safe environment for all.

Everyone has the power to make a difference, whether you’re an elementary school teacher, a school principal, or a roofer. It has always been our mission to do the most good whenever possible, and we’re thankful to be in a position where we can provide support to others.
