Kapili Roofing Gives Back: Leilehua High School Softball Field

There will soon be a new piece of equipment at Leilehua High School’s softball field, but you’re not going to see it on the mound or in the dugout. In fact, you might not notice it at all — but anyone with a heart condition will have peace of mind knowing it’s there. It’s an automatic external defibrillator (AED) device, and it’s one of 15 units we’re donating during our season of giving.

To celebrate our 15 years in business, Kapili Roofing is donating critical AEDs to multiple schools, churches, and organizations. There’s one device for each year we’ve been in business, and it’s our way of showing our appreciation to the communities that have made us so successful.

Celebrating What We Do Best — Helping Others

An AED is a machine that can deliver an electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This can potentially restart the heart and save their life. AEDs are found in many public places such as airports, arenas, and schools. They are easy to use and can be the difference between life and death.

However, when we lost a loved one due to a cardiac event a few years ago, we realized that not many places on our island are equipped with AEDs. If more people had better access to these devices, our situation may have ended much differently.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people go into cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly stops beating. When this happens, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs. Within minutes, a person can lose consciousness and die. A portable AED device may help to restore a normal heartbeat and increase the chances of survival.

Having spent more than 15 years in the roofing business, our mission and passion for helping others is clear. With our donations, we're helping others in a whole new way. And that's something worth celebrating.

Why We Chose Leilehua High School Softball Field

It’s a scary truth: According to a new study, more young athletes are experiencing cardiac arrest.

Researchers say that the number of young athletes who have suffered from cardiac arrest has increased significantly in recent years. They believe that the increase is due to the fact that more young people are participating in organized sports.

We chose Leilehua High School because of its robust athletics program. Our donation will put an AED within reach of its softball team, coaches, staff, and fans.

Serving Our Community, One AED at a Time

We are proud to have served the community for 15 years. We would like to thank our customers for their support over the years. It’s because of your ongoing support that our donation of 15 AEDs is possible.

We would also like to thank our employees for their hard work and dedication. Without them, we would not be where we are today. We look forward to serving the community for many years to come.
